Nathan Hecht was born in Wisconsin, went to college in Iowa (Biology, Luther College ’11), and got his MS in Minnesota (Organic & Sustainable Horticulture, UMN ’19). Most recently an ecological landscaper, Nathan moved back to Iowa to start an ecological farm and nursery, forming Bright Earth Nursery in the Spring of 2026. He is growing native and edible perennials to help people better integrate their farms, homes, and selves with the natural world.
